Sydney Food Diary: Cafe Kentaro, Surry Hills

I knew I knew the name Kentaro from somewhere… and that’s because I had brunch quite a while ago at Cafe Oratnek (Kentaro, backwards, get it?) in Redfern. I love me some Japanese fusion, and I can see the rest of Surry Hills does too. There’s been a nice buzz about this place (long ago called Cowbell something or other, and then an inexpensive cafe that didn’t last that long and finally Cafe Kentaro).

My soft shell crab burger was nom-nom-licious. I’ll be happy to return to try more menu items. And I like the location on Bourke Street in Surry Hills, quiet but still with a neighbourhood feel, folks walking and cycling by, leafy trees.
